Chicuchas Wasi, founded in 1987, is a beacon of hope in the heart of Cusco, Peru. This extraordinary organization was established with a noble mission: to prevent human rights violations against abandoned children, some as young as 6 years old, who were left to survive alone on the unforgiving streets of Cusco.

Chicuchas Wasi is more than just a safe house; it’s a sanctuary for girls, providing them with essential resources for a brighter future. These include nutrition, healthcare, education, and life skills. The Chicuchas Wasi School for Girls offers free primary education with a strong emphasis on personal development, empowerment, and academic excellence. Their curriculum instills essential values such as integrity, self-esteem, and social responsibility, paving the way for a life of quality, dignity, gender equality, and financial independence.

Beyond the classroom, Chicuchas Wasi School actively engages with the community, organizing cultural celebrations and championing social and women’s issues. They tirelessly advocate for the value and importance of education for girls, helping to transform lives and communities.

Currently, Chicuchas Wasi lacks an indoor facility larger than a classroom to host events, sports activities, theatre presentations, and other essential gatherings. We are committed to helping them build a multi-purpose room that will serve as a hub for creativity, community, and growth.
